Musical felicitation

Percussion mastero Mridanga Kala Shiromani A V Anand is being felicitated on March1 at 6 pm at Jayarama Seva Mandali. Sangeetha Kalanidhi R K Srikantan will preside over the function. Dr Mahesh Joshi, Director of Doordarshan Kendra, Bangalore will be the chief guest.

N S Krishnamurthy and managing trustee of Ananya R V Raghavendra will be the guest of honour.There will also be a concert by Mridanga maestro Vidwan A V Anand with his disciple Tirumala Srinivas followed by flute

Raga Sagara

Panchatattva Raga Sagara, music for meditation and healing, is conducting a special programme on March 1, 6 pm at the Gayan Samaj Auditorium.

Hindustani vocal

A Hindustani vocal concert will be presented by Vidushi Soudamini Venkatesh, a senior disciple of Surmani Pt Vinayak Torvi, at 6.30 pm on March 1 at ‘Bhoomika’, 17th Cross, Malleswaram. On harmonium will be Umakant Puranik and on tabla will be Shashi Bhushan Gurjar. The event is organised by Bangalore Sangeet Sabha. Entry is free

Keats was a tuber
 
Voices will present Poile Sengupta’s ‘Keats was a tuber’, a hilarious take on the English language featuring Shiv Kumar, Munira Sen,Ranita Hirji, Ramnath Bhat, Stanley Pinto, Pathy Aiyar, Chandana V Aiyar on March 4, 5 and 6 at Ranga Shankara. Design and direction is by Ashish Sen.

Theatrical spectacle

Parikrama Humanity Foundation will celebrate Parikrama Centre for Learning’s fifth annual day based on the theme ‘One planet. One People’ at MICO grounds on March 1 from 6.30 pm. Witness the theatrical spectacle ‘Around the World in 80 Clicks’ produced by Parikrama staff and performed by the children of Parikrama.

Reading Ruskin Bond
