MARKETS / Debt, equity ratio norm eased
Fema cap on FII investment goes  
The Reserve Bank of India, on Saturday, removed a Fema regulation which binds FIIs to restrict their investment in the Indian capital market in the ratio of 70:30 between equity and debt, following market regulator Sebis directive to this effect on Friday.

Lead Lehman bankruptcy lawyer Harvey Miller said on October 16, in federal court in Manhattan that the investigations were launched by New York US attorneys in Brooklyn and Manhattan as well as in Newark, New Jersey.
Allahabad Bank Q2 profit falls by 83 per cent  
Public sector bank Allahabad Bank, on Saturday, reported a 82.5 per cent fall in its net profit during the second quarter ended September 30 to Rs 41.68 crore in the wake of turmoil in the stock market and global financial crisis.
G8 biz leaders mull Dec meeting  
The group of eight (G8) business leaders are planning to hold a special meeting in December to discuss boosts to global economic growth and jobs, industry groups said on Friday.
France to probe $804 m bank loss  
French Finance Minister Christine Lagarde has asked the governments bank oversight authority to look into the countrys second-largest banking group, Caisse dEpargne, after it announced a loss of 600 million euros ($804 million) in a derivatives trade, reports French radio .

An auction house representative in Wiltshire, England on Saturday shows the 100-year-old suitcase belonging to Millvina Dean, the last remaining survivor of the Titanic, which is up for auction. Millvina Dean, now 95 was just two months old when she was wrapped in a sack and lowered into a lifeboat from the deck of the sinking RMS Titanic. AP
