An elaborate procession will be held on November 1, commencing from Bunts Hostel premises at 7.30 am, which will reach Nehru maidan at 8.30 am. The procession will have attractive tableau from various departments and will also have students and volunteers of NSS, NCC etc participating in it. District-in-Charge Minister Krishna Palemar will hoist the flag at Nehru maidan and will receive the guard of honour from various platoons. Later, achiever from various fields will also be felicitated during the programme.
Cultural programmes will be held in the evening at Town hall by Kannada Sahithya Parishath, Kannada and Culture Department and Department of Eduction. Most of the senior officers remained absent at the meeting.
Though it was decided to hold the Rajyotsava celebration with great pomp, the lack of zeal among the various departments was evident at the meeting. While Kannada Sahithya Parishath District President Pradeep Kumar Kalkura said that Rajyothsava must be celebrated like ‘nada habba’ and hence lot of tableaus must be put up, not even a single department agreed to stage a tableau whole heartedly. Mr Sharma said that tableaus can be made but there is huge financial crunch, which has to be overcome. However, talks are being held with the private companies to join hands to make the programme a lavish spectacle. DySP Dharmaiah was present at the meet.
