Who will be our guide: Leelavathi
DH News Service Bangalore:
Ee thayi, maganige innu yaaru dhikku (Who will be the guiding force for this mother and son from now on?) This was how actress Leelavathi reacted a while before the funeral of Rajkumar on Thursday. Her son Vinod Raj was with her.

The famous pair, Rajkumar and Leelavathi, had acted in as many as 42 Kannada films together.

In a sheer coincidence, Vinod Raj was tonsuring his head at Tirupati when he got news of Raj’s death. “I have spoken to him only thrice in my life. My mother wanted me to speak to him once before we went to Tirupati, to which I did not agree. Now, if I want to speak to him for the fourth time, I have to be born as his son in my next life also,” said Vinod, rendering a song - ‘Elligo E Payana...’ from the Raj-starrer ‘Sipayi Ramu’ and throwing mud as a symbol of interring.

“An entire lifetime is not enough for me to recall the movies in which I acted with him. I pray that he receives the same adulation and respect above, that he got while he was alive,” Leelavathi said pointing to the sky.
