‘Brahmagiri’ completes 25 years

The silver jubilee celebrations of the first Kodava weekly newspaper- ‘Brahmagiri’ was held in a grand manner at the Cauvery hall here on Sunday. On the occasion, a souvenir was released by film actress Prema. Kodava Sahitya Academy former president Bacharaniyanda P Appanna presided, District Chamber of Commerce President G Rajendra, Guddanda Kanthi Ganapathi were present on the dais.

Speaking on the occasion, Editor Ulliada M Poovaiah said that news weekly that was started in 1980 had contributed to the development of the Kodava language in its own way.

Dati Poovaiah explained the history of the newspaper. Various cultural and literary activities were held on the occasion. Dati Poovaiah, Bottolanda Mittu Poonachcha compered the programme.
