SSLC: 49.21 per cent results recorded in Davangere

SSLC exams results were declared on Friday. In Shimoga recorded 68.8 per cent results and Davangere recorded 49.21 per cent results



Davangere has bettered its ranking among the educational districts in the State by registering 49.21 percent of SSLC results this year.

The district which was relegated to 31st position among the total of 32 educational districts in the State by registering 40 percent SSLC results the previous year has moved up to 26th rank this year.

Among the 29,770 students who appeared forr the examination, 14,649 students have been passed in the district.

As usual, the girls have continued to maintain an upper hand in the SSLC results. Out of 13,015 girls who appeared for the examination, 7,153 have been passed, thus registering 54.96 percent result.

On the other hand, only 7,496 out of 29,770 boys have cleared the SSLC examination recording 44.74 percent results.

Davangere (South) block in the district has registered the highest percentage of SSLC results.

It is followed by Harihar, Jagalur, Harapanahalli, Davangere North and Cyhennagiri.
Crowded browsing centres.

Meanwhile, the anxious students and parents thronged at the internet browsing centres in Davangere City to access SSLC results on websites. Most of the browsing centres had made necessary arrangements for enabling the students and parents to obtain the results.

However, the mobile service numbers announced by the BSNL and other cellular companies to access SSLC results were of little help to the students and parents. Most of the mobile numbers got jammed due to too much traffic.

Shimoga
The average pass percentage of SSLC students in Shimoga district has been recorded at 68.83 with 12,043 students passing out of the total of 17,496 who attempted the exam.

Five private high schools have registered cent per cent result while results in government schools has also shown vast improvements.

Girls have achieved 71.91 per cent and boys 66.53 per cent.

The Mary Immaculate School, Oxford School, Educare, Morarji Desai Residential School and Sahyadri High School have shown hundred percent result.

The talukwise breakup is as follows:

Shimoga: 67.56 per cent, Sagar: 72.34, Hosanagar: 74.73, Thirthahalli: 77.70, Bhadravathi: 69.67 and Shikaripur: 60.63 per cent, Sorab 60.59.

The results are being put up on the notice boards of all the concerned high schools on Saturday morning at 9 am and the marks cards will be disbursed by the end of this month.

The supplementary examinations will be held on June 10 and those wishing to apply should do so by 15th of May.
