Gold rush for India

India bagged 62 gold medals to take their gold medal tally to 120 on the third day of 14th Asia Masters Athletic Championship at the Sree Kanteerava stadium here on Friday.

India now have bagged a total of 384 medals (120 gold, 138 silver, 126 bronze). Japan tallied an overall haul of 38 gold, 15 silver and 14 bronze, while Sri Lanka garnered 36 gold, 32 silver and 29 bronze and placed behind the hosts in that order.


Men: 35-39: 1500M: A M T Ratnayake (Sri Lanka) 4:20.2 seconds. Long Jump: M D Jayatissa (Sri Lanka) 5.60 metres.

40-44: 200M: Joshi Abhay Madhukar (India) 24.2 seconds. 1500M: Bhaganna B (India) 4:25.5 seconds. Long jump: Siby Thomas (India) 5.93 metres.

45-49: 200M: D S Gnanadasa (Sri Lanka) 24.4 seconds. 1500M: Niwat Oithip (Thailand) 4:32.9 seconds. Long jump: D S Balasooriya (Sri Lanka) 5.83 metres.

50-54: 1500M: Singh Jodha (India) 4:37.8 seconds. Long jump: Tapan Songupta (India) 5.21 metres.

55-59: 200M: N Wickramarachchi (Sri Lanka) 25.9 seconds. 1500M: C Selvaraj (India) 4:55.3 seconds. Long jump: Davinder Jeet Singh (India) 5.22 metres.

60-64: 200M: M M G Bandara (Sri Lanka) 27.4 seconds. 1500M: Karl Kunz (Thailand) 5:28.4 seconds. Long Jump: Mathew Puthanpurayil Chacko (India) 5.04 metres.

65-69: 200M: Yoshioki Moriizumi (Japan) 28.0 seconds. 1500M: Hideki Kanekiyo (Japan) 5:16.9 seconds.

70-74: 200M: Huang Yuan Te (Chinese Taipei) 29.6 seconds. Javelin throw: Ibohal Singh K (India) 32.13 metres.

75-79: 200M: Hiroo Tanaka (Japan) 30.3 seconds. 1500M: Hiroshi Matsuoka (Japan) 6:50.6 seconds.

80-84: 200M: Bihari Singh L (India) 37.6 seconds. 1500M: Soichi Tamoi (Japan) 7:11.32 seconds.

85-89: 200M: W Jemis (Sri Lanka) 1:37.1 seconds. Long jump: Ram Lal Sharma (India) 2.43 metres.

90 above: 200M: C K Nair (India) 1:02.4 seconds.

Women: 35-39: 200M: H H Tambaralatha (Sri Lanka) 28.5 seconds. Javelin throw: Chandrama Dutta (India) 27.50 metres. Pole Vault: E Rajeswari (India) 2.30 metres.

40-44: Pole Vault: Shaily Thomas (India) 1.60 metres.

45-49: 200M: Galiulina Zifa (Kazkisthan) 30.0 seconds. Shot Put: Shushila Phogat (India) 9.14 metres. Pole Vault: Jhamonvan Boonmee (Thailand) 1.2 metres.

50-54: 200M: Kamala Srinivasan (India) 32.0 seconds. Shot Put: Erlinda La Vandia (Phillipines) 9.64 metres.

55-59: 200M: K G G Menike (Sri Lanka) 31.9 seconds. Shot Put: Rita Saikia (India) 7.69 metres.

60-64: 200M: Junko Osada (Japan) 33.6 seconds. 5Km walk: Renhua Li (China) 38:26.4 seconds. Javelin throw: Kanika Das (India) 19.33 metres. Shot Put: Atsuko Kato (Japan) 9.33 metres.

65-69: 200M: Itsuko Maeda (Japan) 37.7 seconds. 5Km walk: Rosalind Luruthumari (Singapore) 38:28.2 seconds. Javelin throw: Tserendolgor Tumurbat (Mongolia) 21.87 seconds. Shot Put: Tomoko Kanari (Japan) 10.63 metres.

70-74: 200M: Vijayalekshmi S Nair (India) 41.3 seconds. 5Km walk: M Satchithananda (Sri Lanka) 37:25.5 seconds. Shot Put: Sumiko Kodama (Japan) 8.58 metres. Pole Vault: Midoro Yamamoto (Japan) 2.0 metres.

75-79: 5Km walk: T Mary Josephine (India) 49:42.0 seconds. Shot Put: Daisy Victor (India) 6.54 metres.

80-84: 200M: Mariamma Varghese (India) 1:37.9 seconds. Shot Put: J M Sibilla (India) 5.19 metres.
